if you are on your period and are using a condom?

Although it is always a technical "possibility" that you can get pregnant at any point in your mentrual cycle, it is very VERY unlikely that you would get pregnant while on your period. You are not ovulating, which usually happens approx. 10 days before your period. By recieving a period that is the release of unfertilized eggs, therefore there are no eggs to be fertilized even if you didn't use a condom. I really think you have absolutely nothing to worry about. It is simply darn near impossible.

While unlikely, it is still possible. First, the condom would have to break, or you would have to somehow use it improperly so that semen could still get inside you. If you are younger and your cycle is still not regular, then there is a chance that you may ovulate shortly after your period. Usually you ovulate about 14 days into your cycle (about 2 weeks after you start your period). However, if your cycle isn't regular yet, you may ovulate sooner than that. Sperm can also live inside you for about 72 hours, so even if you ovulated 3 days after you had sex you could still get pregnant. The bottom line is, you CAN get pregnant during your period, contrary to popular belief, however it is rare, and also highly unlikely if you are using a condom properly.

Anytime you have sex there is a possiblity. Did you know that if you're taking the pill & certain medications then your birthcontrol may not be effective? And condoms break!

According to: http://www.rickmd.com/tqbcmpgm.htm
"No, and maybe.

If you periods are regular, and come every 27 to 31 days, you can't get pregnant while you are still bleeding. If your periods are not regular, you can get pregnant any time.

Another exception is if your periods are longer that one week. In that situation, you might be able to get pregnant near the end of your menstrual bleeding."

the chances are slim but yes. the only 100% way to not get pregnant is to not have sex.congrats on being responsible! but if you don't want to take a chance on the condom breaking you should look into other forms of birth control (like the pill) to use along with condoms.

Still is a possibility. you can conceive while on your period and the condom can break. Give it until your next period and take a test. Family Planning can give you a free test that is completely confidential.

GIRLLLL, my husband of 30 years just touches me and i get pregnant! we have 12 kids now, fuzzy, ticklish, liccorce, sleepy, angry, silly, laundry, happy, loopy, poopy, stinky and winky. we actually have to sleep in seperate beds, in seperate rooms, which are in seperate houses because i seem to be the most fertel woman on the planet and i think if my husband roberto, just looked at me i would indeed become pregnant! and yes i was on my period when we had sex, because i didn't want to become pregnant and we were trying all the possible ways not to. we also used a condom and those techniques did not work for me. so the answer to your question, in my opinion is YESSSIREEE!

I wouldn't worry about it. In order to conceive you must be ovulating and if you're having your period then you aren't ovulating. Also, if the condom didn't break, that's another reason not to worry. They are very effective.

anything is possible. Condoms break, and sometimes our body does strange things. Never hurts to be extra careful.

it's really doubtful!! you have to be ovulating or very close to ovulation (the time when an egg is released) to get preggers... not to meantion that if you correctly use a condom it's 98% effective... you're always hearing things like "there's always a chance" ..but your chances are very very slim... if i were you i wouldn't worry at all... good luck!

Not likely. You can't ovulate while you are having a period, and you can only get pregnant while ovualting.
