Today when I wrote out a fathers day card for my fella, just to let him know that I am greatful to him for what he does for my daughter, they are not biologically related.
It takes someone special to do what he does.

Hello Mr Frewster, A few minutes ago when my wife brought me a cup of tea. I always say thank you, and mean it, when I am given something, even if I hate what I have been given, as I think if someone is good enough to give me something, whether I like it or not, I should be (and am) grateful. Thank you for asking the question. Poseidon

The last time I got a best answer! I always mean thank you when I say it.
I'm not begging for a best answer though. I'm too polite (my partner has just looked over my shoulder to see what I'm typing and is now rolling on the floor in stitches! Cheeky get!)

Today, when I was standing in a dirty old phone box calling BT for the fifth time to ask them when my phone is going to be fixed. They told me the 13th but its still in progress, they promised me it will be done by sunday at the latest. I said thank you because I was relieved I would at last have proper internet connection and a working phone again, also because I wouldnt have to call them again from a filthy call box that made my daughter's hands dirty! Whether they keep their promise is another thing though!

As i was thinking about the question. I realised i haven't said it with conviction in a long time. I simply say "Thank You" as a way of respect towards another person or to be polite.
