Need to locate Mapped Network Printer info on local profile without loggin into the PC. does anyone know how i can get this info. My assumption is there should be some kind of key in the registery or within the profile folder. These printers are mapped by printer name and not by IP.

In the registry, take a look in:

My Computer\HKEY_USERS

In that section you'll find the registries associated with all the users on the system as well as the "default" user. Unfortunately the entries will not be listed by a user ID rather you'll see a UID.

Inside the keys under here (for example on my system) you should look for the following structure:

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-25699195-1493103960-121643288-74642\Printers\Connections

Under that key, I can see sub-keys that contain the printer information.

Not exactly an easy way to find the info but it works.

The only way to try to get around logging into a machine is to pull the hard drive from the machine and insert into another as a slaved drive.

Mapped resources are located in a hidden file (usually c:\network) which is visible only if you can reset the registry key RegisterFSRoot)

I guess it's probably strange and unusual to be asking this kind of question because normally mapped resources are easy to discover on a network of almost any size so should be more easy to recreate. The original mapped printer info is of practically no use except to the logged on user.

No, there wouldn't be a key, or anything I can think of in the Profile itself either. If you know all of the steps on the path from the PC to the network to the printer, it would be fairly easy.

Otherwise, you would have to log in and check the properties for the path.

Cheers

This music is particularly frequently 80s. In different words, this is horrid. The singing isn't something extra suitable than effective, the lyrics are previous banal and the music isn't plenty extra suitable than something you ought to pay attention in an elevator. in case you may care to seek the Billboard charts for the time, you will locate that maximum prevalent music lower back then develop into the two lame. If it wasn't for a pair of used checklist shops downtown that frequently had unknown acts like the Pixies,Violent Femmes and Black Flag on cassette,I honestly don't be attentive to if i might've survived.

If you are running a domain you can add a printer using Group Policy on the server.

You can't do anything without logging in.
