Oracle, I know how you feel. My boss always says "irregardless". It drives me nuts.

You have to take your boss seriously NO MATTER WHAT. Your boss is still your boss. If you're not going to take your boss seriously just because of wrong usage of grammar, that is just disrespectful and incredibly shallow. I know displaying appropriate communication like eye contact, body language, etiquette, grammar is a big part of work ethics but I think RESPECT is bigger! Be the bigger person and do the right thinng. Just deal with cultural and racial diversity appropriately and don't engage in harrassment of any kind.
I hope this helps.

It has nothing to do with taking someone seriously. Unfortunately, improper grammar is ridiculous in someone that is in an authority position, but you have to realize that this person is your superior. There will always be a quality in people that you dislike or don't respect, and thats normal human nature. The goal should be to make an effort in yourself to be well-mannered, well-spoken and mature. People will take notice of your good qualities, which will only make your manager's poor qualities more noticeable. That will not only give you some satisfaction, it might get you a promotion.

many self made men and women are not well spoken.
many managers and bosses are well spoken and educated and that's how the got their jobs.
How do you take your boss seriously? you just do.
proper grammar is not the only pre-requisite for success.
If it was maybe you'd be the boss.

OMG thank you!!! I thought I was the only one bothered by that.
I spent 5 years working for a woman who, among other things, was always wanting to AX me a QWERstion. She was hysterical in meetings.

I know, right?
You would think that in a position to supervise others, they would have ability to speak properly.
It does affect your level of respect in general.
