Clear the Cache:
1. Open IE
2. Click Tools
3. Click Internet Options
4. Click General Tab
5. Under Temporary Internet files, you should click Delete Files
6. Confirm with an OK
Remove Bad Downloaded Program Files:
1. Open IE
2. Click Tools
3. Click Internet Options
4. Click General Tab
5. Under Temporary Internet files, click Settings
6. Click View Objects
7. Look at the Status column. Right click on the files listed as either Unknown or Damaged, and then select Remove from the context menu.
8. Confirm with Yes
9. Close the remaining windows by clicking OK
If the above does not work, you may have to remove all the files in the Downloaded Program Files folder.

Depends on which photo program you are using. if you click on 'save as' you should have a drop-down menu, giving you the option of bitmap, tiff or JPEG amongst others.
If you are saving from a scanner, all progs will save as a bitmap by default, but you can convert it as above.
Even once you've saved it, you can change the format by this method

you can change it easily if you have softwares like adobe photoshop just open the bitmap file and then choose file->save as and in the extension choose various picture formats via (jpeg,gif etc) and save it

It would be helpful to know where you are saving or downloading the pictures from. If you don't have full image editing software, you could download free software from the link below which does the conversion to jpg for you.

when you click save as (depends on what program your using).. but there should be an option to change the format you save it in, it should be a drop down under where you would be naming the picture..

"save as", then change the format. But you didn't say what the source of the picture is or application your using.

Look at the bottom part window when saving "save as"
Pick on the drop down button as e.g. jpg or gif or whateva . . .
