Ok, I just want to know....does your vagina size/strength/shape return to normal and the same after you give birth? I'm being induced in 2 weeks (June 26th!) and he is *expected* to be right under 8 pounds. I am wondering, since he'll be somewhere around that size, how long does it take to get "small and tight" again? Weird question, but I don't want sex with my boyfriend to change after our baby arrives! (yes, there will be much protection used this time around!)

Your vagina is a very elastic muscle it will go back exactly like it was eventually. Do your kegals. and take extra vitamin E or just continue with your pre-natal vitamins after the birth of Jackson Avery.
Also, lots of time the uncomfortable feeling during sex after the birth of an 8 lb baby is because of your insides being out of whack. What I mean is all of your intestines, stomach, are pushed so far down that they could actually make having sex uncomfortable. Just make sure you follow your Dr.s orders exactly and don't jump into it too soon, it could keep you from having sex even longer. Good luck!

Ok here are some things to consider.. Firstly if you're being induced you need to make sure that the doctor knows how you feel about after-baby sex.. some doctors feel it's quite ok for them to give you an episiotomy (some do it on the idea that a cut is easier to sew up than a tear, but, studies have shown that in most cases the cut takes longer to recover from and can actually cause more issues than help) and since you mentioned that you expect a large baby the possibility that the doctor is going to suggest one is likely. This is something that can change your sex life... Ok so what can you do.. well kegals are a great way to get your vagina back to it's pre-birth shape quickly.. but these things take time.. it may be as much as a couple of months before you feel back to "normal". Also I think you're underestimating how you're sex life will be after the baby's born.. It's going to change... between you're energy level yo-yo-ing and sensitivity in your vagina will change (it may be more, it may be less) I can pretty much guarentee that it's not going to be the exact same sex as before you were pregnant.. But good luck to the three of you..

It will take some time and everyone is different! My baby was 8 pound 10 oz and I’m back to normal but my partner said it did feel “different” for a while even once I was tight again. Some people say it takes 2 years for your body to fully recover after birth, you may be tight a lot sooner then this but still everything is different. Do a lot of pelvic floor exercises and as often as you can, also breast feeding is the natural way that your body goes back into shape. When you start feeding you may feel like you are having contractions at fed times, this is great cause it means your body is all going back to normal!!!!! Congratulations on your baby and good luck :)

Kegals work really well also you can start doing them now to help ease the stretching of child birth. Kegals are when you go pee hold the pee in let a little out hold again let out hold again let out and so on and so forth you can also do these while your having sex. (does wonders, makes the men wild) tmi i know lol. you can do these anywhere and no one will know your doing them. but doing these before and after labor helps alot. normally your vagina will go back to original size after baby is born. remember though sex may or may not be the same (some for the better some for the worse) cuse now you have a baby and sex doesnt come to often anymore. (unless you make time for it when baby is sleeping). good luck and congrats.

You will still have to wait to have sex after you give birth. It will take a few weeks for you vagina to heal. The size of your baby matters, but also the size and control you have over your vagina. Women with good control over their vaginal muscles tend to have a lot less tearing.
You have to work on keeping "tight". You should do you kegal excersises, it is the only way to get back to the way you were.

After you give birth you won't have a gaping hole don't worry. And you will go back to normal, but the length of time depends on you. After you give birth you will be weak there and have a hard time holding even urine. Exercise by squeezing that area and it will strengthen quickly. But I will tell you it will take awhile before you feel normal. If you have stitches etc.. it may take longer it all depends on the birth and you and of course what kind of shape you are in. Good luck!

Um your vaginal muscles are very forgiving. To say the least. Your muscles will return to normal very soon. This sounds weird but it felt tighter after I had the baby probably due to lack of sex for 7 weeks! Though, I am not sure if it is like that for everyone. Just remember your pelvic floor muscles will be weak still so remember to keep doing your kegel exercises! I found out you have just as many "leaks" after you have the baby as you do before! haha

You will have a 6 week check after to make sure everything has returned to normal but any health care worker will tell you that it takes 12 months for your body to completely get over pregnancy and labour. They say you shouldnt have sex for 6 weeks after labour so i guess that gives you a rough idea of the healing process. All the best X

Kegels are easy, and you can do them any time you have a few seconds - sitting in your car, at your desk, or standing in line at the store. No one will even know you're doing them!

Finally, continuing to do Kegel exercises regularly after giving birth not only helps you maintain bladder control, but also improves muscle tone in your vagina, making postpartum sex more enjoyable.

Good luck

ok, I stay in teh uk too, and my daughter replaced into born right here in London 15 months in the past. First, do no longer call an ambulance once you bypass into labour. except this is an emergency (like the twine has come out merely before the child, you experience a foot or a hand interior the beginning canal, or the child is crowning!), you're merely taking over powerful emergency amenities that could desire to value somebody else their existence. this is completely positive to reach in a vehicle or a taxi, while you're close, you may attempt walking because of the fact walking will help flow the child down into the beginning canal, or maybe take a bus (yet it may be slightly embarrassing in the experience that your waters befell to interrupt on the holiday!). yet call the well-being center before you arrive so that they understand which you're on your way and could need your paperwork waiting. once you get there, they are going to examine your cervix and ask you some accepted questions - have your waters long gone, how some distance alongside you're, are you allergic to any drugs, and how some distance aside are your contractions. whilst they have general which you particularly are in labour, they are going to in all probability prefer to exhibit screen the child for a little while, and afterwards, they are going to assist you to it. in case you like an epidural, you will could desire to have an IV inserted and the midwife will stay with you till you provide beginning. interior the united kingdom, they take an exceptionally holistic mindset to birthing, nature will take this is direction and that they are going to purely intrude if this is taking too long or if there is an obtrusive difficulty. After beginning, you may could desire to be stitched up (which will advise lidocaine photographs down there, and specific, they harm!). they are going to additionally grant you a drug by capacity of a shot interior the thigh to help settlement your uterus down as immediately as a risk. I additionally gave beginning interior the U. S., there they take an exceptionally palms on mindset with lively administration of labour - breaking your waters, consistent monitoring of your contractions, supplying you with meds to velocity up your labour and performing episiotomies instead of allowing you to tear. the two approaches have their advantages and their down components!
