That's fairly common for fish just added to a tank. They are getting used to the new environmet and should settle in and act normally within a day or two. They also may not eat during this time, so don't let that alarm you either, it's quite normal.

There could be many reasons for this. Did you float them before you put them in the tank? If not they could be in shock from temp and water condition changes. Is the water in the tank too hot?

If you still have the water they came with add it to you tank, also make sure the temp is in the mid 70 range. If they are truly in shock they should come out of it as long as the temp is around the mid 70 range. Also add a teaspoon of sea salt if you have any. Good Luck...

well what size are the fish, what size is the tank, how long has the tank been up and running. DId you do a water test to see if the water is ok? Do you have a filter running, or a air pump???

Well this always happens to me when i get new fish, the first day when i put them in the tank they just swim slowly and stay in one spot. Give your fish a day or two to adjust to there new tank environment, and then then your fish will be more active, and swim around in their tank more.
Good Luck

Yr new fish could be under stress due to yr new water condition.Any new fishes u buy hv to be quarantine at least for 3 days b4 u add them to the existing fish tank.During quarantine, give them green color medication n do not feed them for 3 days during medication, monitor yr fish n by 3 days they shld be able to join their new friends in the tank.Be make sure u hv add sufficient aquarium salt n anti chlorine to yr existing fish tank.

Your goldfish are 'shocked' from being 'pulled out, stuffed into a plastic bag' and transported to their new tank. If you are SURE that they are in a 'good environment' (right temperature - cool, right salinity -none, NO plants or only plastic ones, etc.) just 'feed them' a TINY BIT and leave them 'alone' ... they should start 'swimming around' and acting like 'goldfish' within a day or two.
