i mean why cant it be morning?

It's called circadian rhythms, and it is a good question.

Just as bats are night animals and cows are day animals, humans are day animals. We are tuned to wake within a certain amount of time after it gets light, and to sleep better when it is totally dark.

We can change this for night work, etc., but it is hard on our bodies because we want to sleep in the dark and work in the day.

I tend to fall asleep at night because i'm tried and it's dark.

people who work night shifts fall asleep in the morning!!!!

well first of all, its kind of human habit by now.. we work in the day and we go to sleep at night.. (although of course some people do the opposite) but there is possibly a chemical which helps us to do so, called melatonin. Its in the pineal gland in your brain, and its thought to be released in the dark and makes us sleepy and helps with sleep cycles.
