Im looking for a bike that will be used for transport to work, long distance rides will also hit some trails with it but nothing too extreme.Looking to spend no more that $600. If you can attach links that have pics, stats, and prices. Thanks

Let's start with type.
Sounds like you could use a hybrid (street/mountain bike)
Keep gearing in mind, the hybrid can split the difference
(some lo end gears for rough/hills) and hi end gears for fast straight aways.
Think about suspension, probably a hardtail would suit this ride.
No back suspension but maybe some spring in front for you.
Make sure the frame is large enough for you, same models
will have varied frame size.
Look on the up post label (in front of rear wheel. for height)
My Bianchi Mt is 19.5 and I'm 5'10".
Do you prefer lever shifting or grip twist shifting?
For work you may want regular pedals versus clip-ons.
Make decisions on these items first and start looking at
models in shops.
