My husband and I are having our first baby! I'm not sure if we have all the necessary items off of the baby list.
Am I missing anything important?
What do you suggest?
Are we ready to go?
Here is the list of items I have:

Items you'll need (or at least be most usefull) in the short term that are still missing:
- thermometer for the bath
- thermobag to keep the milk bottles warm during the night (in case you cannot breastfeed)
- Electric water kettle (most usefull)
- sterilizer (must have)
- vaporizer aka aerosol machine (can be most usefull or even essential depending on the baby or the weather)
- breast pump (even if breastfeeding)
- nose cleaner for babies (essential to prevent diseases)
and of course... Lots and lots of love (the most fundamental)

I am 37 weeks now, with my second, and both times I just waited til after my baby shower to shop, so I knew what I needed. But 36 or 37 weeks is just right, if you've already had your shower, you should have it within the next month or less if possible. Some babies come early! How would you like to bring a baby home and have no stroller, bottles, breast pump, safe bedding, diapers or clothes for you new baby. You need to make a registry of what you want immediately and make sure you put where you are registered in your invitations. Don't be afraid to take stuff back that people have given you if you don't need it. You can use the money to get stuff you need. As long as you know where it came from and haven't damaged the packaging, most places will let you exchange items with or without a reciept. I had way too many newborn clothes and no 6 month clothes when my daughter was born and didn't take any of it back. She was born 8.5 pounds and all those clothes never even got worn! I sure could have used that money to get her something she could wear! Good luck with your baby.

These are the things I didn't see on your list.
A bassinet - babies will feel lost and not secure in a big crib the first few months.
Blankets - you'll need something to swaddle the baby in. And you'll use a ton of blankets.
Burp clothes (big plain white cloth diapers are great).
Hooded towels/washclothes. The first month or so, you can't put the baby in the tub b/c of the umbilical cord, so you'll have to do sponge baths. Hooded Towels help keep them warm while you do it.
Make sure your baby care kit has a nasal apirator and saline spray, as well as infant tylenol and pediacare.
Toys! Make sure he/she has something to look at, like the black/white play gym. And something to clip on the carseat.
For you:
lots of pads
tucks
pain relief spray
something loose to wear
nursing gown
get some healthy snacks, you'll be too tired to properly eat.
Contratulations! Enjoy your new baby!

Sounds like you are ready. Just make sure you have your suitcase packed for the hospital and have a few of the clothing items already washed in the baby laundry soap and ready to use (bedding too) Good luck!

Pacifier, Winter Jacket, baby carrier to carry the baby with you on your tummy when cooking or what ever. Baby wash rags. Baby play station where they can sit in the middle and play with the toys around them. Ask doctor to give you foot prints of your baby put that on the list. Dresser, baby monitor

Lysol (for diaper smells)
Diaper Pail
Tylenol and/or Ibuprofen
Thermometer & KY jelly
vaporizer/humidifyer
alcohol wipes (for umbilical cord...and gen. area of boy)
latex exam gloves (use when handling raw meat and also for changing diapers of sick babies)
That's all I can think of....some of them are the "didn't think of that" type.
