He wasn't even the top QB drafted this year.
In fact, as we all know, he plummeted.
Many draft pundits had him going into the SECOND round!
Also, word is that his mini camps aren't going that great either.

Is it because he went to Notre Dame and he's supposed to be the 'Golden Boy'?

Why bring up Troy Smith?
I'm certainly NOT a 'Suckeye' fan but Smith had a great year. His bowl games were his achilles heel.

His height (6 ft, BARELY) is the reason why he got picked later. If he was 6'-3 or better, he would've been a 1st rounder and Quinn probably falls to the 2nd round.

Check out ESPN They are saying that he is stuggling and that he may be the 4th qb on the roster before it is all said and done.

I for one think he is going to be the next in a long oine of NOtre Dame greats like Rick Mier or Ron Powlus. He has done nothing to earn the amount of attention he gets.

he never won a big game in his entire career. The other qb's that get some love at least won big. Palmer, Lienhart, Russel, Young, all either won championships, or lead there team to at least a bcs win. Quinn got stomped the last 2 years in bcs games. For some reason the media seems to forget all of that. The man officaly quarterbacked 2 top 10 teams out of the title picture. and never beat a true rival in his career. Usc owned him.

plain and simple he sucks and will end up in NFL Europe or in Arena Football.

Then you must remember what team drafted him there isn't even enough talent up there to make him look respectable, meaning after they open the season by losing 4 straight in division, and the fans start to yell for Quinn, he will be thrown into a fire with nothing to help. This failure of a rookie year will set him up to be a bum for the rest of his career.

He went to the psychic to be sure the place he ought to get the cellular numbers of Rick Meier and Ron Powlus... so he ought to start to appreciate that the media made him right into a famous individual at Notre Dame and that he's not an NFL starter. That photograph of a clipboard is actual using fact he is going to make an excellent style of money if he's prepared to in straightforward terms stand on a sideline and carry one for the subsequent 5-8 years.

I'll tell ya why, because he comes from a highly media-ized school. There is all kinds of attention on Notre Dame and the coach Charlie Weise. When the media shoves the school down your throat so much they almost have to push the pro career. I didn't find his draft spot too surprising because I think he won't live up to the hype. Over rated QB.

the same reason Notre Dame goes to a bowl game every year. Movies like rudy and the 'win one for the gipper' movie. ever wonder why ND has lost 7 straight bowl games? They are always over ranked and face teams they have no chance against.

Because he has marketability, when his name is said ppl will watch
If he is doing a great job they will praise him to the fullest
If he is doing a bad job or not doing anything they will bash him

either way the mention of his name gets ratings
thats how the Media works
(look at how they are handling lebron James)
(Tim duncan is an example of no marketability)

Um, there's not too much to write on football now, so any possible story that comes up will be written about. And of course their eyes are on him, he was always talked about possibly going #1 to Oakland. And he is the most ready to start rookie out of the draft.

You are full of crap dude. He has been NOTHING but criticized for his play since before he got drafted. He is getting shelled by the national media. Even Joe Theismann, a former ND graduate, hammered him on national television. The kid also had to deal with the backlash from some pictures taken at his sister's wedding. There were NO draft pundits having him fall outside of the top 10, period. The fact that he dropped was unfortunate for him, but after MIA, not many teams were in the market for a franchise QB. So after that series of events, it might have seemed that he would fall to the second round...but he was not going to anyway. The Ravens were going to get him at 23, and then the Browns traded up to get him. And that does not take into account that the Jags were interested in him as well. He was not going to be a 2nd rounder, period. But look at this. The Ravens, after hoping that Quinn would fall to them at 23, waited another 151 picks before they got the most overrated Heisman Trophy winning QB, ever, in Troy Smith at pick 174!!! The same QB that apparently was SOOOO much better than Quinn during the regular season but who showed how limited he really was in the FLA game was selected 152 picks after Quinn. But the media is NOT on this kid's jock. They are constantly on his case and criticizing him on a daily basis, yet there are idiots like you who like to perpetuate myths that are not based on facts.

The kid may not have been the best QB this year--and I think that is debatable--but draft position certainly does not necessarily mean anything about your fortunes. Tom Brady (barf, but true he has been a steal as a 6th rounder), Joe Montana (best ever QB and he was drafted in the 3rd round, who incdientally led the Niners to victories against MIA and DEN's teams 93-26, 7 TD, 0 INT vs Marino and Elway in the Super Bowl), Ryan Leaf, Phillip Rivers, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning. Leaf probbably the biggest bust ever, Eli is not far behind, and yet both of them were top 5 picks. Peyton and Rivers also top 5 picks and are working out well. But for all those getting all excited about the fact that Quinn fell to 22, think abouut this for a second: Dan Marino actually fell into the 20s as well (#27, actually, after guys like Elway--the #1 pick, Todd Blackledge at #7!!!, Jim Kelly @ #14, Tony Eason @ #15!!! and Ken O'Brien @ #24!!!), and he just owns every significant passing record in the NFL and winning records against every other QB drafted above him except for Elway and Kelly. So to say that Quinn is going to be a bust simply because one QB was drafted above him is just ridiculous. But hate on, man.

Give it up dude. If anything, the media has picked him apart all season, through the draft, and still do now. He is the most criticized draft pick, not the one getting the biggest free pass.

That would be Russell, whose going to get a free pass for a full year or longer since the Raiders are in even a worse state than the Browns.

As for the idea that he will be overrated, I think he needs to get into a game first, and the fact that he is having accuracy problems is NOT just him. The article on ESPN mentioned the fact that the Browns' receivers outside of Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow are pretty crappy, they are installing a new offense, and Charlie Frye and Derek Anderson are having just as many problems with their accuracy since the offense is completley different than the one the Browns ran last year.

And your "long list of Notre Dame quarterbacks" included two. Did you know that Montana, Theisman, Hanratty, Hornung total up to at least 9 SB rings, with only one loss. How many SB rings do MICH quarterbacks have? Three? COL? USC?

And the idea that he never won a big game would mean a lot more if the game were ever close. But when the DEFENSE gives up nearly 40 pts per game in your biggest games of the year, and your OL, WR, and RBs are all a level or three lower than those of your opponents then, you will get your asses handed to you. Do I think that ND performed well in their last two bowl games? No. Would they have made a bowl without Quinn as QB? No. They also certainly would not be able to have attracted other top QBs like Crist and Clausen, if Quinn had not played so well during his career.

Give it up people, the media has been out for his head for over a year now, and want him to fail more than even you all do, which is saying a lot.

He was a pretty boy who went to Notre Dame so they are STILL saying he is the best thing ever based on their lie from his college days.
