Because the double cheeseburger is on the the $1.00 menu and the regular cheeseburger isn't...but I have no idea why. It would seem more logical to have it reversed?

since when? I live in NYC and a regular cheeseburger will cost me about 1.08 but the double cheeseburger cost somewhere in the $2 range...so maybe it was a special they were having on double cheeseburgers but to my knowledge the double cost more than the single.

around here the cheeseburger cost 99 cents, and the double is $1.00. it only depends on the individual franchise.
