I guess the Matt Schaub buzz along with the additions of Amhan Green and Amobi Okoye sells tickets. Things can only get better for the Texans.

P.S. To the guy above, the Lions always sell a ton of Tickets and all you need for your explanation is Calvin Johnson.

They are a new-ish team in a big market with eager fans. Texas is a huge football state and people want to seee football. Plus, the texans may have a bright future ahead of them. Also, the Lions also have a wait for season tickets, explain that one to me. It is the same situation.

- Because Texas is a huge football state;

- Because football fans in Houston have been waiting for a team to call their own since the Oilers left;

- Because the novelty of having a hometown team hasn't completely worn off yet;

- Because the Texans have nowhere to go but up from here;

- Because fans like to say "I was there years ago when..." once a team/franchise has really established itself;

- Civic pride: Many people equate supporting your team with supporting your city;

- Did I mention football is huge in Texas? ;)

I really don't know most football fans in Texas are Cowboys fans because the Oilers are long gone and the Texans are a new team.

the nfl is the hardest ticket to obtain in all of sports---several reasons why, the season is short with only 8 home games (not counting exhibition), the fans in houston had been waiting since the oilers left to get a chance to see the nfl, theres not much to do in houston, the nfl is so popular right now it is trendy to be seen at games even women are jumping on the bandwagon-------plus alot more im not thinking of but record has nothing to do with it if you are a diehard fan

The Pens easily have a waiting list for season tickets? it really is a insurrection! I in ordinary words might want to pass again some seasons to locate their section almost a third empty evening after evening. for sure the Canadian communities are in intense call for. so a methods because the U. S. area is going i might want to might want to imagine the Rangers, Detroit & Philly are the leaders the following...they have the biggest fanbases.

Probably because when the Oilers went to Tennessee, the fans were left without a team. Now they have one again. I would bet that many Texans fans are former Oilers fans.

The hamthugger dude got it right...

5 million people... not hard to find 70,000 for 8 games....

and most people in Houston are die hard Dallas fans anyways.....

Nobody really cares about Matt S. here either.

Football is big in Texas and NFL on Sunday is a big party and another excuse to get drunk without looking like a drunk.

one reason is cause the city is a bigg football city. the other is the new players. matt shaub will be a great qb for them. wish we could have sent mike vick to them and kept matt. but hey falcon owners are dumb. but thats why they got a great chance at doing something this year. they need fan support.
