In about a month, we're moving to another state where we know absolutely no one.

I've always been shy..I don't know why..but I always was and still am.

And...I totally hate it!
Every year I always say I'm going to be more outgoing and confident..and I always back down.
Well not this year..
I'll be a junior in high school, in a place where I don't know anyone..so this is my perfect opportunity.

Can you give me some tips to become less shy and more outgoing and confident?

Thanks =]

Just go for it, i used to be shy to but this year I suddenly changed because i was so tired of being shy and getting pushed around for being so nice, last summer i changed my hairstyle, i used to have bangs and be able to hide behind them but now i don't which at first made me feel exposed but after a while i got used to it and it actually gave me more confidence. i don't look down when i walk anymore or avoid looking people in the eyes at much which really helped. when u meet someone new make sure to smile (but not a too big smile) and make eye contact, it´s hard at first but turn it into a challenge. look straight into their eyes and even when u wanna turn away don't but if u really cant help looking away just go back and try it again, I can almost guarantee that this will help! ^_^
also, try changing something about yourself, think of it as a new you, change your hairstyle, color hair, maybe use a little more/less make up, just something different so that it wont be so easy to go back to being the same again.

Well, congrats!!! New environments are always cool and make our heart skips a beat.. hahaha... well, I used to be shy but then, I DID so many crazy things (like, in the middle of a talk show, raise up your hand and ask questions). These added up my bravery and now I feel so confidence.. I mean like, brave will come by the time you practice it... Good luck on your new life! :D

I use to be shy, I'm still kinda shy but I just say **** it, if people don't like me for the person I am then so be it. I missed out on a lot in life because of being so shy but nowadays I do what I want to do and go where I want to go because if we let our shyness control us were not living how we want to live but how others expect us to.

Best thing for you to do is just be yourself, I bet your pretty cool and not everyone is going to like your style but there are a lot of people that will okay so hold your head up high and be who you are don't let that shyness rule you.

And hey never hold in what you need to say to people always, always express yourself.

Cheers.

To me confidence is a gradual thing, it's not something you can change overnight. but all i can say is life is short, you never know what can happen tomorrow, so forget your fears and live your life as you want it.
