You should remember that since no one was there to see the Big Bang, it remains a theory, albeit the most popular one, on the beginning of the Universe. Scientists have postulated this as one of many theories, including the steady state theory (whose coherents include Albert Einstein). There are other scientists who believe in the biblical creation of the Universe. You may be well to ask how that singularity got there in the first place. Since no one knows for certain how the Universe was created, nor exactly when, then no one can know what was there "before." If the Universe is all there is, then nothing was there before it was created. If there are really Multiverses, then that leads to other suppositions in that what we conceive as "Universe" is just part of multiple "Universes," touching each other like a stream of bubbles does. The Universe, as we see it so far as our studies enable us to, is expanding not as a circle but as a balloon does while it's being filled up with air or helium. It is expanding outward but has no viable center. If our Universe is all there is, then as it expands, that's all there is. No one has ever seen the "end" of the Universe, though we have been able to peer into the past to see the earliest (we believe) galaxies. Doing a yahoo or google search for yourself on these different topics will answer your questions, as well as bring up more. You will be embarking on a wonderful adventure! Good luck!

What is beyond the universe?

The main options:

1. Nothing. Just define 'universe' so it includes everything.

2. Space containing no matter and perhaps even no energy.

3. There is no such thing. Space exists only as relationships between matter, so if there is no matter, there is no space. I'm not joking. Some scientists seriously consider this.

4. There is no such thing. Space is expanding along with the material universe.

5. There is no such thing. The universe is a closed topology. I don't think there is any particular evidence to support this.

6. Conjecture whatever you like. We'll never know. It's beyond our event horizon. Imagine parallel universes if that tickles your fancy.

To the restaurant that is there. :)

The universe isn't IN space. It IS space. Yes, you can liken the universe to a circle--no edges. Since it isn't too hard to visualize, go up a dimension and liken it to the surface of a ball if you want. The actual universe is up another dimension (so it IS hard to visualize). We really don't have the foggiest idea what created the universe. Although you can read plenty of theories, none are testable at this time (or usually ever).

Edit: Yes, the correct answer is milliways. Goodjob Darren.

Space does not exist until the universe expands into it. You are part of the universe and if you could overtake the expansion Space would exist behind you. You would not leave the universe but you would be expanding it...

Its meant to be in basic terms earth. It wont ensue regardless of the undeniable fact that, the mayans did no longer understand approximately bounce years. in case you upload each and every bounce twelve months and evaluate the mayan calender to ours the actual december 21 2012 replaced into 8 months in the past so if it replaced into gonna end it may've handed off by now

Think of it as a sphere. And space and time are created along with the universe and space curves along with mass. So, when you reach the end of the universe, you probably keep going around that curve like a circus artist on a cycle inside a globe.

when we humans eventually go out in space on and on till we get to the outer edge of the universe in our fancy flying machines.. then this one particular universe we live in ends and then you go on. and enter into what i call Endlessville. a wonderful very large place of many wonders. and many many more universes full of marvelous worlds inhabited by intelligent creatures.we will see those worlds one day.IF we do not destroy this world we live on before then

It doesn't have an end. It is like a carousel. If your standing on it an you walk around in a circle - do you ever get to an end?

Since the Universe has no 'end', I'd worry about getting there first before worrying about what was after it ☺
