There are studies that say that eating peanut butter an hour before you go to sleep can also help. You can try cutting out distractions while trying to sleep. Don't watch TV, work on a computer, exercise, etc. an hour or more before bedtime. They can release endorphins that can keep you awake. You can also try drinking a cup of sleepytime tea (chamomile and mint) before bed.
Hope some of this helps!

I'm not sure how old you are or what your dietary practices are but if you are a coffee drinker and drink coffee at night try stopping coffee at 4 pm. If you are young then you just may not be requiring a lot of sleep right now. You're tired , but your body may be changing due to the seasons.

One thing you can try doing is about 2 hours before bed work out for 30 minutes. This will relieve stress you may not even realize you are carrying but it will also allow your body to burn off excess energy and begin to unwind. Try taking a nice warm bath before bed to relax your muscles and slow yourself down from the day.

Don't watch tv in bed. If you have a tv in your room, get rid of it. Instead try a nice soothing light and soft meditative music. These will also help calm your body to prepare for rest.

Sometimes there is nothing you can do. I go through times where no matter what I do, no matter how tired I am I am not going to sleep until my body decides to do a crash and reset itself. I'll go one and two hours a night for three or four days then I crash for 13-15 hours. Then I can sleep again normally. Sometimes your body throws itself off and you have to wait for it to reset itself.

Try the suggestions. If they don't work, wait for the crash and give into it fully. Sleep it out completely and your body will reset itself.

Something safe and natural to try is melatonin. It's what your body produces to make you fall asleep. It's pretty cheap and you can get it at any vitamin store, probably even wal mart. I think I paid $3 for 100 pills. It REALLY works, you'll fall asleep right away and stay asleep all night. When you wake up, you don't get the drowsy foggy feeling like you would with a sleeping pill. Good luck!

Thats miserable. Although there have been times where I couldn't fall asleep at all. Honestly I don't know what causes this. If you can't sleep tonight consult a doctor tomorrow morning. Also listening to your iPod or CD player in bed might help you fall asleep. Good luck!
