It's like Republicans and Democrats churches with weapons and gangs.

Neither is all that great. They each have strong points and bad points. The difference between them is basically some root philosophy and leadership.

Fatah is more of a corrupt bureaucratic entity that doesn't function that well except within its leadership. Hamas does really well getting basic needs of people satisfied, but they are hostile to most outside entities, especially Israel.

They hate each other. They are willing to kill each other gangland style (bombs, shootings... stabbing). They are also both about being in power.

I feel for the joe regular Palastinian.

Neither is all that great in the big picture.

Matter of opinion..You will find people to say that Hamas is good, some that say that Fatah is good...
Well they got to this situation thanks to the so called democratic world, who didn't seem ready to accept democracy in Palestine...And unfortunately they both got into the trap and started a civil war..."Great job" we've did again...
Anyway as far as US is concerned Fatah are the good guys, otherwise I don't see any reason for US to send them weapons...

That's a little bit like choosing whether or not you want to take a kick in the balls or hammer to the head.

Fatah at least will recognize Israel and make some sort of feeble effort to rein in the terrorists and make peace.

Hamas are the terrorists.

So I'll go with Fatah.

Hamas are the more extreme of the two; they advocate violence and they have sworn to destroy Israel.

Hamas is the group that the Palestinians voted for in their elections, as opposed to the more moderate Fatah.

Well since our :"Great Decider (?) G. W, Bush and his administration of Village Idiots are backing Fatah I would have to say that Hamas would be the better one.

Fatah...by the western perspective. Hamas won't drop the destruction to Israel crap.
ps to Paul---Pretty silly conclusion for a "realist"!
