ive heard on here that i could maybe change the channel of the router cos i have picked up another 5 connections in the area, but havent a clue how to do this.

Changing the channel only helps with interference like wjen you can not even connect to your netwirk. As long as you are connected to YOUR network, changing the channel won't do a thing.

Could be a number of things really. I have the same issue, and have not found any real solutions that improve it.

I get steady 4 Mb/s though LAN, and 2-3 over wireless.

Good luck.

Cheers

Hi there,
Usually, to change the channel, you need to access your router using your Internet browser and search for the channel selection. But, before you do that, here is a very good web site explaining all sort of issues with wireless connections.

Read The Friendly Manual (RTFM) for your router.

Your WiFi should give you very close to wired speeds, after you change channels.
