If your town does not have tap water you would drink, do not bother boiling it for your baby. Fluoride is important even before baby has teeth, but too much can cause white spots. Try mixing the regular bottled water half and half with the more expensive Nursery water. That will give her the flouride she needs safely and less expensively.

I wouldn't use the nursery water because too much fluoride can have negative effects on your baby - and yes, even though your baby doesn't have teeth, he does need fluoride.
If you have a well, you will want to boil it because you may have other contaminants in it.
I believe city water is considered relatively safe to use straight out of the tap - this is what your doctor is referring to as having fluoride in it - i'm pretty sure they add certain nutrients at the processing plant
me - i'm neurotic (sp?) - we have a well, and it is filtered as it comes in the house, and then i use a brita pitcher at the tap, and then i boil it - but, like i said, i'm neurotic :)
also, when i have used bottled water - i usually buy the steam distilled - i don't know if it's true or not, but the steam distilled says to me that the manufacturer boiled it already for me :) and as was mentioned above, bottled water is not regulated at all, so i feel a little safer when we do use bottled water and it is steam distilled :)

Only use the tap water if you don't want her to have cavities. Flouride is safe, and if it were my child the benefit from a future of good dental health greatly outweighs the "risk" some skeptics say you take with flouride consumption. Yes to flouride.

use tap water. City water has to have regulations. bottled water can be whatever the manufactuer wants it to be. Plus city water has the flouride in it. even though you baby doesn't have teeth, it's still good. Don't give her the brown water though. Plus you can run the water until it's the right temperature, like slightly warm. Bottled water is room temp (cold to a baby) and they like warm better.

I use the Nursery water for my son because it's distilled but it still has flouride. According to my DR, flouride is good even if they don't have teeth yet (because they will soon and it'll help from the begining)!

Breastmilk is better for a baby, but if you are using formula..use distilled or boiled water. The AAP suggests that children under age 2 not be exposed to flouride..whic is in tap and nursery water

city water is superb to blend formula with. nicely water isn't. nicely water might want to be on "tap" too and can want to have micro organism and parasites in it. city water is clean to apply. once you've fairly not ordinary water the position you're it can make the formula have extra bumbbles in it from shaking. we've city water and function a water softener and function a air purifier hooked as a lot because the sink besides.
