To YA! say this because our childrens schools form of communication is mostly through email. Every week they let us know what event/fieldtrip etc. is going 2 take place 4 that week & the next few wks ahead. Both of us get the emails. He reads emails from people here who contact him directly about answers or questions but when it came down to events at the school or something that needed his attention his excuse was "oh I didn't read the email." Excuse me but shouldn't your childrens schooling take prioirty over YA? Last night I gave him our daughters outstanding report documenting her excellent improvement ovr the year (she was very shy &sensitive) & a few minutes later I c the rerport in his hand but him looking at YA! Am I being overly sensitive? I love YA too, I apprecate the diverse advice & opinions but I also can still keep my priorities in place. Tell me if I'm nagging. Our children & I were very dissappointed @ the events and conferences he missed this yr. due 2 this

This can be addicting, but you also have to realize you have a whole different life out there. I get on several times a day and find myself drawn to it at times when I should be doing other things, but when it comes to family I will not allow something like yahoo answers come between me and them. I have no small children at home and so find myself bored at times, only an excuse I make myself believe that it's okay. Hopefully, your husband will see how he made his children sad by not reading and keeping up on them.

He needs to get off the computer in general and spend some time with his kids. He needs to interact with his kids. I would make sure that you eat dinner at the table without the TV and computer. Talk to the kids about there day and what they have planed for the week. If the weather is nice talk a walk with the kids or go to the park.

Best Wishes to your family.

If you have kids, you probably have an internet nanny or something like that on your computer. Most of those have time limits you can set - so it automatically disables the internat after an hour or something like that. Let him have his fun, then when he can't log in anymore he can focus on parenting and other more important things.

I'm hearing frustration and justified at that. I'm addicted to it as well and hoping that it'll just run it's course soon so I can't get back to "real life".
