Each pill has a slightly different combination of hormones - and yes, a lot of them do have the chance of making you grow in that area. However, there's no way to tell which ones will have that impact on you because everyone's body is different. i'd stay away from Yaz though, it nearly killed me. You have to be really careful about hormones - not all of the side effects are so positive.

Was on Marvelon for 4 months and had to stop recently, because it made me allergic to sun (I would develop a very itchy red rash on all exposed body parts), and kind of increased my asthma. It also made gain weight (about 5 pounds) some of which I'm sure is fluid (lost about 2 pounds in 2 days after stopping, without any diet change), in addition to being constantly thirsty (something I'm not used to; I'm not a very heavy drinker). Only good side is that it DID make my breasts a little bigger and firmer, and leg hair a little finer.
The first 3 months are a little difficult; I got nausea, and a period that lasted an entire month.
For many people, this pill is good though, just not the right one for me. Sometimes, you have to try several before you find the one that suits you.

Nuva Ring is vaginally inserted and it is wonderful! You don't have to worry about taking a pill every morning and there has been NO side effects for me. Before the Ring I had taken pbly over 10 different kinds of BC and everything made me sick, gain weight or hormonal.

I have taken several kinds but different BC's react different with different people.
Ortho Novums (every type of Ortho) - I hated them and they did not work for me.
Loestrin- 100% WONDERFUL, very light periods, no PMS, no wt gain.
Yasmin - had break threw bleeding the first couple of months, light periods, no PMS, no wt gain, acne reduced.
Once again you and your doctor need to find out what is right for you.

not your b, what did you do to treat the sun bumps? i get them sometimes when i do not apply my sunscreen evenly enough. i use cortisone cream for the itch, but it takes a while for them to go away. since i often get them on my chest, it makes wearing cute summer clothes really difficult. please advise!
