If you filed them online through one of the outside links that the IRS provides from their website, then you should be able to go online with whomever you filed them with (i.e www.taxact.com ) and sign in with a username and password that you initially set up to file your taxes and you should be able to obtain a copy. If you had a tax preparer, then they should have given you a copy of your tax return. But due to high security (which is a good thing) you can not get it from any particular website. You can always give the IRS a call and they may be able to retrieve a copy for you.

If you filed using a tax preparer, ask them if they have a copy.

You can't download a copy from the IRS. They don't have that facility since there would be far too many privacy risks.

You can get a transcript of your tax return from the IRS for free but not a copy. The following link will take you to the correct IRS form (4506T) to request one.

go to www.irs.gov

You can get simple copies at no charge. This are modified copies of your income taxes, that are used to input into their system. If you need an actual copy, there is a charge.
