No, he's a musician. But he has made cameos in movies like "Lost Highway", "Jawbreaker" and "The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things." He's also going to direct a movie about the life of Lewis Carroll called "Phantasmagoria." Manson has also been known to paint and write.

i would have to say that marilon manson is a musician fiirst, actor second. he is like the alice cooper of today. he's out there to scare people, to shock them into coming to his concerts. but he wouldnt even be able to have any concerts, or CD's, or fame, if he didnt play good music that people will listen to. its like trying to be a band that plays no songs. it just doesnt work.

His performances are Goth theater, certainly, a darker version of Kiss. This doesn't mean he's not a musician, but appearances are integral to his art.
