Makeup is all about ehancing what you like and detracting, not hiding or covering up, what you don't like. You can pick different types of makeup based on which facial features you'd like to show off and which ones you'd like to improve.

For the face:

If you have great skin and want just a bit of coverage without feeling like you're wearing a mask, pick a tinted moisturizer. These had minimal coverage, so they will provide less coverage than a foundation, but you will still get a hint of color. Many of these tinted moisturizers also come with SPF, so you can also get some sun protection.

If you want more coverage for problem skin, use a medium of full coverage liquid foundation. Find one that matches your skintone, and you can either apply it to the spots you would like to fix, or you can apply it all over your face to even out skintone. Either way, make sure to blend it in very well so that there isn't an obvious line between your face color and the foundation.

For eyes:

You can choose either natural shades to eyeshadow, like creams and taupes to even out skintone, or you can try something more colorful if you'd like to make a statement. If you use a bright color, apply it only to the upper lid from lash line to your crease and blend it well. Eyeliner is great for enhancing your eye shape, and mascara does the same, because by darkening your eyelashes, you bring more attentions and definition to the eyes.

For Cheeks:

If you want a bit of extra color on your face, you can choose a peachy-pink powder blush, which is a universally flattering color, and apply it only to the apples of your cheeks in circular motions. Do not apply it in a streak to the entire top of the cheekbones, or else you'll get that 80's, clown-like face.

For Lips:

If you want to bring attention to your lips, you can either choose a simple clear gloss, a tinted lipgloss (which will have a bit of color), or a lipstick (which will deposit a lot of color). If you want to use lipstick, you can pick something in a berry shade, which is also universally flattering, and apply it with a lip brush. The darker your skintone, the darker lipstick you can wear. Stay away from brown lipsticks, because they are not flattering for any skintone---unless you want to look like you have poop on your face.

Bare Minerals would be a good line for you to try, because it has a really natural look to it and is actually good for your skin! As for facial cleaners Mario Badescu has a wonderful line which is popular among celebs and inexpensive.

Purchase Bare Minerals at any Bare Essenctials Store or Sephora

Mario Badescue online or in Nordsrtoms

Also you might want to add some mascara to that eyeliner and some lip color

You dont need it so dont get into it before you get hooked. Then your beautiful skin might get ugly from the make-up clogging your pores and you're not gna be able to live without make-up. You might have to wake up every morning having to do make-up before you step outta the house.

Well if you want it just for special occasions then use at least only eyeliner, eyeshadows, lip balm and lipgloss. Limiting your make-up will also save time and money.

And if you limit your make-up you can consume less time taking your mask off

For the make-up, you should go to Sephora, they have unlimited choices there; and they'll be more than happy to help you! And if you can afford pricey stuff, MAC make-up is a gooood choice. They're also glad to help you out there too, they help you choose colors.blend colors etc.

goodluck!

I recently have started using the Bare Minerals powder foundation, and I think its the best. It's got great coverage, it lasts, and best of all it doesn't clog your pores or leave that heavy feel that you get with a liquid. It might be a little pricey but it goes far and is way worth it. For a cleanser I recommend clean and clear with micro-beads. It exfoliates and cleanses at the same time. They also make a nice toner. Hope this helps :-)

you should go to www.avon.com and contact a licensed Beauty Adviser in your area and have them come over and show you how you should be putting on makeup and which products are best for your skin type. This is a free service and you have no obligation to buy any product. This way you can get a good idea of what you need. And if you do deiced to buy the products they are reasonable priced and are comparable to Clinque and other name brand products.

for facial cleaning, i prefer Neutrogena. their cleansers make my skin so clean and fresh. also be sure to invest in a good moisturizer, since it stays on your skin all day.

always buy foundation, concealer, and loose powder from department stores or makeup artist lines. you need to invest in these products to achieve the best look. good quality means no caking. it also means that the shade will match you better because they have someone in those stores to help you choose your shade. some even have custom blending.

if you're just looking for some pressed powder to sop up oil, head to the drugstore. same with eye makeup and lip color. there's no need to get all your makeup from department stores.

Go for a tinted moisturizer and a mineral-based powder. Neutragena makes good ones! Then follow with a light peach blush or a light powder bronzer on your cheeks. Use your eyeliner and a bit of brown or black mascarra on the top lashes, and you're good to go!

As for cleansers, I like Cetaphil, Olay, or Noxema. They're plain and simple but very effective.

Revlon New Complexion One-Step Compact is a great, light foundation & powder in one. L'Oreal True Match also offers a variety of excellent products (blush, lip color, foundation, concealer etc) that are a perfect match to your skin color. All you need to do is use their transparent color palette located in their area to find the right color for you. Rimmel offers a nice variety of eye shadow kits ... for smokey eyes try Colour Rush Quad eye shadow.

i recently started wearing makeup too and i went to clinique
they gave me almost lik e"starter makeup" called touch tone that no matter how much you put on, it looks the same so you cant over or under do it (i dont know if maybe you want to ask for it? maybe not, but my mom said that clinique is perfect for girls who are just starting to wear makeup)
also when you do go to get make up, if they have it avalible ask them do have someone do your make up for you, because they will know what colors would be best on you and stuff!
good luck finding some!

Well, it all depends on your skin tone. If you have dark-pigminted skin, you need a foundation that matches, or makes your skin look better. I beleive that you should try products from covergirl or maybeleine. For foundation, try a mousse powder, it will minimize the look of your pores. And put it all over your face (except your eyes or mouth) sometimes, to make things blend better, some people put it under their chin and continue on their neck. For eye shadow, try colors that look best on you. Try to do a "rainbow" effect. For this, you don't use the colors of a rainbow, but you get three (or more) colors, start with brown (that's one that is most common, and will go with almost anything) and lightly brush over entire lid and half way under eyebrow. Then, take your second color, and put over brown on your lid. Then lastly, with your third color brush only on the edge of your eye that is closest to your eye lashes, so you will see it when your eye is normally open. Take your brown again, and brush on the far left of your eye (looking in the mirror) and stop where you would with your eye liner. Try to brush up, it is supposed to highlight your eyes. Look at pictures and try to imitate them; practice makes perfect. For blush, you might try a light pink to a light and soft red (depending on your skin tone and what looks best on you) and take the blush-brush and lightly swirl in the blush and tap the brush to get extra off when the bristles of the brush are covered. To apply, take the brush and gently stroke on the edge your cheek bones on the sides of your face. Try not to make it too noticable, you just want to highlight whats already there. To maximize your lashes or to make them more noticable, use mascara and/or eye liner. I think that for your lips, you might want to try a lip gloss, it looks good and feels better than lip stick. Plus, it isn't as loud and moisterizes your lips. But, if you want to use lip stick, pick a color that either goes with what you are wearing, or what looks best on you. First, you need to get lip liner that is the same color as your lip stick, and apply on the edges of your lips - all the way around. Then, take the lip stick and fill in. As for a cleanser and moisterizer, I have found that nothing really works like it says it does, so, just read lables and try different things. But, as for me, I use dove soap, you know, the kind that moisterizes, and I follow that with a quick obsorbing non-greasy lotion. I like Suave, with aloe and vitamin E.

Tadda!! I hope this helps. Good luck! And remember, if you don't quite master it on the first try, practice makes perfect. Try to get help from your mom, or a friend. You could also look at pictures, and try to imitate them, and do your own thing.
