Why in the heck would Leyland put him into a 2-1 game? He doesn't have his stuff this year and this has been appearant in MOST of his outings. Ugh--I MISS ZOOM!!! :(

Hopefully it was one final shoot to prove himself before he was traded...(to Cleveland--that would help! haha) ? Another suggestion...How about some (AAA) MUDHEN time? I'm so aggravated--we're better then this BS!!!

GO TIGERS!!!

I always get nervous when he comes out of the bullpen.

You never know which Rodney will show up;
the good, lights out one, or the bad "heck with it, I'll give up the game winning HR" one.

When he is on, he is lights out. Problem is you never know which one shows up.

Zumaya should be back in late July, and then you can relax because that will be the end to all of our division foes.

Because as you said, Zumaya is out. If he doesn't recover fast enough, maybe the Tigers will swing a trade for a good reliever on a bad team: Al Reyes, Chad Cordero, Akinori Otsuka, Eric Gagne.

I've stuck up for him in the past, but I have to admit now that you're correct - he needs to go somewhere else. Even with Zumaya out, there have to be better late options than Rodney.

Since about June-July of last season, the opposition seems to have figured out his limited pitch selection and are now just waiting on him. He needs to develop another pitch for his repertoire, or he's going to continue to get banged around pretty hard.

He is coming off of an injury and is not 100%. Leyland is going to bring him along in tight spots so he can come back to the level the Tigers are looking for. Remember, the baseball season is an endurance race and not a sprint. They are going to need him in top form before the season is over and in the playoffs and they have to get him to where he needs to be.
