A slightly off-topic reply to previous answerers: It is not a violation of someone's copyright to take a Flash video player from a site, such as YouTube, and extract the underlying FLV for your own use.
It is a violation of copyright to do that only if you then copy the FLV -- on the Web, on a CD / DVD, etc. -- for others to see and use.
Copyright is only the right to determine who gets to use or publish a work: The "right" to "copy" a work.
It could well be that someone might want to license content to you in a way that you cannot alter it, and if you refuse to accept that license, you won't be granted copyright (the right to view the video).
Unless the site explicitly required this questioner to accept such terms before he was allowed to view content on the site, that wouldn't apply here.
