Absolutely Joel Zumaya. It is rumored that he hit 107 in spring training. Just a rumor as far as I know. But he hits 101-103 all the time. Too bad he ruptured a tendon in his finger warming up. Justin Verlander is pretty hard too. He hit 102 in the the ninth inning of his no hitter the other day.

Joel Zumaya's teammate Justin Verlander who just threw a no-hitter the other day was hitting 102 mph in the ninth inning. For a starting pitcher to do that in the ninth is pretty darn good.

There are many pitchers capable of throwing 100mph at any given time and can reach that number from time-to-time. However, Joel Zumaya consistently throws pitches at that speed. You are going to get responses indicating some pitches in the 104-107mph range but I don't believe anyone has ever been clocked, with radar in a game, at more than 103mph.

Yeah Zumaya is got a cannon, Verlander can get it up there too. Hit 102 on the radar in the 9th inning of his no hitter.

Zumaya is obviously going to be the top choice, but Farnsworth has a cannon, I went to spring training a few years back when he was with the Cubs and he had a couple at 102.

Verlander hit 102 in the 9th, his 9th inning of work, so that's pretty impressive but if Zumaya is hitting 103 then I guess he wins the hardes throwing contest.

Zoom Zoom and Justin Verlander are the top two guys in my book, Joel actually reached 104 twice and we all know Justin can hit 102 and 99-100 on average.

depending on the OF they could possibly reach 120. pitchers pitch off of a mound to help their velocity, but to get a running start and throwing the ball you can get more speed, guys like clemente, ichiro, ankiel, vlad can throw more than 100 on a run. the average outfielder probably can throw 90 or 95 though with a running start
