Maybe cut it into strips to make quilts for Al Qaeda.

This isn't a quetion, and you know it. It's an attempt to start a fight. The antagonistic language and sentence structure you use make that obvious.
My question is, and it's a real question, why do you do such things? Why do you create more animosity in a country that's in danger of being torn apart from within by just this kind of antogonism.
Do you know the history that has built up to today's hair-triggger political climate? It's long and complicated, but I can say in short that it was authored by right wing politicos in an attempt to seize control of the country. Okay, congats to them; it worked. But what have we done to ourselves and our country? People voting their fears regarding some of the most inflammatory, yet, least important issues, have brought us here. We are presently cast upon the horns of a terrible dilemma in Iraq, bigotry is flexing its muscles again, and even legitimate science is being viewed suspiciously as the work of the devil.
Then instead of trying to analyze what's gone wrong and becoming part of the solution, you run around trying to antagonize others and over what? Will liberals desecrate the flag? Do you see a lot of liberals desecrating the flag? I flag desecration a major problem in the country?
Stop with the red herrings and ungrounded emotional appeals. This is not what we need right now.

I only use Confederate flags for fire starter on flag day. I fly the Stars and Stripes at my home as a American Patriot, so no desecration here bud.

I have a Purple Heart tag on my truck. What about you? I say this is America and rather we like it or not if someone wants to burn the flag it is their freedom to do so. Besides this fake patriotism displayed in recent years has gotten old. The flag that flies over our courthouses has for the last 50 years and probably more has not represented the values that were displayed before. If the UN flag was to fly I would for sure burn that. I am a Libertarian conservative.

What American Flag? Where I work and I work in America and I am an Native American Citizen, the place will be adorned in the colors of a foreign country. Mexico! There will be red, white and green hanging from the halls. But, there will be no American flag. I can bet on that.

You want desecration? Here is an excellent example of it. An uber conservative, ultra right wing Christian in my neighborhood thought it would be a good idea to buy cheap plastic flags and put them on everyone's lawn on Memorial Day. Of course he also just had to put his business card (he is a realtor) on it. By the end of the day half the flags were so cheaply made that they had fallen off their wooden sticks and lay on the ground, but his business card was still flying high, nicely stapled to the top of the stick. Those who don't understand what the flag stands for and the protections it was meant to symbolize that are in our Bill of Rights and Constitution and use it for fake patriotism while allowing those rights to be eroded are them ones that truly desecrate it every day.

Maybe they'll fly the flag over a country we illegally invaded and are currently occupying against the will of its people.
Oh wait - that'll be the GOP.

Do you have a flag on your car? I wonder if you're one of those people who put one on after 9/11 but was too lazy to take it down when it got worn and tattered. I see that all the time and it bothers me a lot. And I'm a liberal.
Next stupid question.
RESPONSE - You're a veteran? Good for you. I'm not a veteran so you should be more outraged than I am at these rags that adorn cars which barely resemble the flags they used to be. Why aren't you expressing outrage at those instead of making up meaningless questions to hammer liberals?

It is because of people like you that people desecrate the flag. If it didn't get your panties all in a knot, nobody would touch it. You wrapping yourself in the flag to make a point desecrates it more than anything anybody could do to it.

Thomas Jefferson and FDR were liberals, did they seek to destroy flags as you have implied that all liberals do? Burning a flag is not an enlightened freedom of expression.
