The answer is 0.866 = sqrt(3)/2

Whenever you see 'pi' in a trigonometric function (sine, cosine, tangent, etc.), it almost always means the number is in Radians, not Degrees. So, set your calculator to Radians, multiply 2 times pi and divide by 3, then hit the Sin button.
