I am planning on getting my first laptop very soon. My problem is that my xp desktop awile back I changed some settings. I got all worried about security and disabled netbios. Now I know where to enable it back, but I could have sworn I did this change through the registry.

My question is will this setting being disabled prevent my laptop from obtaining a connection through the router I plan to get. Do I need to change it back on the XP desktop (netbios)?

The laptop will be running Vista. Just don't want any troubles if I can help it. What are some of the things I may need netbios enabled for?

You don't need NetBIOS, nor does your router.

TIP: Back up all personal data from your old PC (copy to CD / DVD / external hard drive) before you buy your new PC.

precise click the laptop then pass to residences after that pass to the top tab (often) it says something like reveal if its no longer there. you may see a dropdown container with sixteen-bit or 32-bit.
