Westhill, everyone knows that Today leans to the left. It is rare that they have something negative to say about Democrats.

Well the people are disgusted with the same ol' ,same ol' politics going on in DC. Both sides of the aisle disregard the public and only do what the lobbyist or the WACKOS from the far reaches of their parties, want them to do. This congress was voted in to get OUT off the war for oil, NOT to start self-serving investigations, to DO some real WORK on immigration, alternative fuel sources.
Sadly they do mirror the people here on answers...all finger pointing, ranting for their one-sides views and have no creditable answers for the problems facing the U.S. today and in the future...so i guess in a way they are representing the public

Well, the approval rating is soo low because most Americans don't want this immigration bill to pass, yet alot of members of Congress seem to think it is a good idea to push it through. It also has a low approval rating because they never actually get anything accomplished.

citizenjanecitizenjane2- You are wrong, the problem is that some of the republicans are working with the democrats, such as Ted Kennedy. Also the president is supporting this bill, just like the democrats. Most republicans are outraged with the Presidents continuous support of this bill. Democrats are the ones "bowing down" just not to the President. Instead they are bowing down to millions of ILLEGAL aliens in this country and giving them what they want- amnesty.

So far, all the new liberal Congress has done is to try
to indict anyone they can in the Bush administration. That
is not why they were voted into office. They have been a
do nothing Congress so far, people are fed up, and hence
their lowest ever ratings. Looks like Bush has good (or bad)
company in the ratings game, eh?

I'd also suggest you quit watching that liberal Today Show,
and turn over to a great morning news program called
Fox and Friends on the Fox channel.

There is absolutely nothing leftist about the Today Show. They keep their viewer ratings up by being as bland and neutral about politics as possible. High ratings mean big corporate advertising dollars and that is what they care about most.

The Democrats are being sent a message from within their own party that they have to oppose Bush firmly on Iraq.

Have all the cons forgotten that a big portion of Congress is Republican??????? Dems only hold the majority by a slight margin. The low approval ratingg reflects on all members of congress, not just the Democrats. If the Repubs would quit bowing down to Bush's wishes, and work with the Dems, maybe they could get a bill through that the veto-meister would let pass.

Could it be that finally the American people have come to the realization that political parties really have just one thing on their agenda- that would be self preservation.
That whether they be Democrat or Republican that the majority of those in politics are there to further their own needs and have little interest in what the country really needs or wants.

Neither Democrat or Republican parties when acting as a group make decisions based on what their constituents want. They make their decisions on what will serve them best.

Congressmen are not doing the job they were elected to do. Win the war, secure our borders, quit the runaway spending, pay off our debts, fix Social Security, fix Medicare and Medicaid, defeat terrorism.

These things are all too hard. So they come up with an immigration bill that amounts to obfuscation.

I am glad other conservatives are willing to speak out.
