I have a life long happy marriage but if something were to happen to my husband I would never marry again.
Most older people when their mate dies never wants to remarry. Our congregation is mostly older widow women who do not want a man in their life.
My dad died when my mother was 50 something and after 30 years of marriage and 7 childen and tons of grand children.
She never remarried and said the last 30 years was her happiest in her life. She loved dad but with children and marriage comes a lot of problems. She didn't know she could support herself and didn't even have a social security number. She got one and also a job. Helping a cook in a nursing home, she was able to support herself on 3 1/2 days a week work. Splitting up the work days so it wasn't so hard on her and the other widow lady did the same.
She met a lot of people and worked until she was 63 or 64.
There is a lot of ways of having companionship with out remarriage. The kids and grandkids gave her ones to go places with as well as her new friends.
There is not a lot of men in that age group, to find partners.

a prenuptial is an agreement to divide possessions if they decide to split.
Both need to agree to stay together no matter what.They need to have a christian base to there marriage.
They need to pray about a spouse.
