1991 ford e 350 van won't start. i have spark, don't have gas, fuel pump is good but has no electric to it. it is not the fuel shut off switch. i have used auxillary power to run pump but it still will not start.

The only way to tell if it is a computer problem is to have the codes read. You're gonna have to get it to a shop and have it checked out.

So your saying it has spark and no fuel pressure, and won't start? I would recheck with the spark tester and fuel pressure gauge below. Then check timing is correct with a timing light. Then check catalytic converter/ exhaust to see if it's blocked. Make sure EGR valve is not stuck open. Replace/ clean PCV valve. Read out the OBD-I error codes (reader below).
In general, the computer won't let the fuel pump run if there's a problem with the ignition, because you don't want to be injecting gas into the cylinders if the spark isn't proper. So there could be something wrong with the timing or other aspect of your spark ignition.

Several sensors will stop the engine from running. I assume you have checked the fuses. If you have an EEC4 error reader or a friend that has one, read the codes and that may pinpoint the problem. Good luck.

IF YOU HAVE SPARK AND YOU HOT WIRE THE FUEL PUMP AND STILL NO FUEL, I WOULD FIRST CHECK THE FUEL FILTER. I HAVE SEEN FUEL FILTERS COMPLETELY CLOGGED UP TO THE POINT THAT NO FUEL WILL PASS THROUGH THEM.
