They need to leave the Military alone and to let the Officers run the show. The Politicians like Hillary who made about 6 trips over there, have no knowledge of the Military or on how operations should be run, need to keep their nose out of it and leave the Military alone

That's a difficult thing, because we need to be able to criticize policy decisions without doing harm to our soldiers. I would argue that the ideal time to question a war was before it started. However, any efforts to question at that time were met with insults and accusations. I'm no friend to the leftists, and I don't endorse their tactics here, but neither do I endorse the Bush administration's handling of either the discussion or the war itself.
The Iraq War is aimless. We have no strategy, and we have no goal. Therefore, it is designed to be an endless war. Even as a conservative, I find it hard to keep silent about this kind of position. Our current strategy seems to be to stick our soldiers in Iraq, and let them draw fire. When they're fired upon, we've found terrorists, and then we can go after them.
I'm convinced that the Iraq War is no longer strategically sensible. Whether it was or not in the beginning is now a moot point. Even then our goal was to get Saddam. We accomplished that. Now, we're dealing with mission creep and we actually have no idea if we will EVER get out. That's a recipe for disaster.
In light of all that, I find it hard to criticize the leftists, for as ignoble as their intentions are, on this issue, they seem to be more or less right. There is never any excuse for giving aid and comfort to the enemy, but our administration has given us a war where we can't even clearly define who the enemy is, or how we'll know that they've been defeated.

I don't understand how you can say liberal democrats are aiding the enemy. A conservative administration got us into the war in Iraq, who at the time was not attacking anybody. The Iraqi government was at war with its own people, not America or Americans. The Iraqi army, with over 300,000 soldiers should be able to easily handle Dick Cheney's "dead-enders" which were estimated at 15,000 to 20,000. They do not need our soldiers there. If democrat liberals want to end this war how can you blame them for keeping our soldiers in harms way longer? The administration not only wants to keep them there... they want even MORE soldiers in harms way.

Yes. You may not know Jim Quinn. He hosts a radio talk show in Pittsburgh. His rule number one is: "liberalism causes the exact opposite of what it intends." Your question is a good example of proof to his theory.
