That's a good question. When they finished the film before the credits, I thought for certain there would be a Pirates 4. But after the end of credits sequence, I thought, "No, they seem to have wrapped it up."

I would like to see another one, because I think the series is fun. But a friend of mine made a good observation when he said that it might depend on Johnny Depp. He is a serious actor and may not want to get pinned down or typecast into one role.

All that said, I would like to see another one, even if it is not Captain Jack Sparrow. You saw in Pirates 3 just how dispensible he was. He wasn't in the action nearly as much. You could do an all new Pirates series with new actors. I thought they wrote out Orlando Bloom's character as well. He seems to be long gone.

I think there's a good chance there will be a Pirates 4.
I understand that Johnny has said he would be interested, but I doubt if Keira would as she has said that she wants to stop acting and "get a life". I think they need a break from doing it and possibly come back with a story set into the future - that could be very funny, don't you think?
I expect Ted and Terry are in huge demand. You probably need to book those guys years in advance now anyway.

there might possibly be a pirates 4 movie. they say that they're planning to write a script, but they don't know if they can make it good enough to make it a film because it's really hard to make 4 great movies. and then there are things that say that Johnny Depp and Kiera Knightly won't return, but i highly doubt they won't be in this movie. the only really bad thing about this is that if they make a 4th movie then it will be a few years before anything happens!!

Actually there is. Yes Pirates of the Caribbean was originally meant to be a trilogy, but they are going to make a fourth one. They're going to create a new story and it's going to pick up ten years after (the bit that they showed after the credits). Johnny Depp said that if they can find a great story for the next film, he's going to do it., and so are the other actors.

wouldn't you rather watch something new and original instead of the same old stuff? Pirates has some great characters but i found the story torturous and over complicated, it was as if George Lucas had written it.
It would be nice to see Captain Jack go off on his own adventures though.

no they have said that it was the last film they are making and even if they did johnny depp, orlando bloom and keira knightley isnt going to star in it, so it probably wont be a very good film.

but i would like to see another pirates film.

It was meant to be a trilogy but the ending did leave it wide open for another one in a few years time so probably their will be but not for a while

I heard that they're not doing a number 4 film, but I did hear they were considering making another Captain Jack film. I'd see that, especially as "pout-a-lot" Knightley and "I couldn't fight my way out of a paper bag" Bloom wouldn't be in it.
