The Phils have been up-and-down all year. It was very Phillies-like that they followed their sweep of the Mets by losing two of three to the last-place Royals. And now they just swept the Chisox - go figure!
Philly appears to be waking up, though; Ryan Howard seems to be getting his swing back, which is bad news for the rest of the NL East. Also, they are supposed to get Brett Myers back off the DL soon, which will greatly help the inconsistent bullpen.

well i am a Phillies fan so i of course was very happy that the Phils swept the mets, but the Phillies are really very inconsistient, for teh KC royals took 2 out of 3 games and they are like the 2nd or 3rd worst team in MLB. i think the Phils are coming around, and i think the mets are just having some bad days, so what that means is that it is going to be a fierce battle between the phils and the mets for the NL east championship, and the mets are in for a rude suprise because like some other person said they aren't as good as they think or everybody else thinks they are.

My New York Mets were just having a bad run but trust me we are coming out of this. The Mets will win the east and then go on to win the World Series.

Lets Go Mets 2007 World Champions!

The Mets are just really having a bad slump that they better come out of this weekend. I think it was sickening how the Mets were swept, especially the game last Thurs when they lost in extra innings. I was at that game. Those back-to-back-to-back home runs should have guaranteed a win, so I guess I'm just very mad at the mets for being swept last week.

If the Phillies can get some pitching for the duration of the year they will chalenge the Mets for the division title.

I'm glad in a way b/c the Met fan has been acting very arrogant lately. Now they where put back to reality at least for now anyway. It's funny how they complain about the Yankee payroll but yet they are doing the same thing they accuse the Yankees of doing which is very hyporcitical.

I think the Phillies are just hitting their stride, while the Mets aren't really as good as people think they are. Remember the Mets Pitching isn't that great.

phillies are coming around slowly but surely..what did you think of Dodgers just sweeping the mets in L.A. lol!! all of a sudden NL West is looking pretty competitive.

I think that it's a combination of both. The Mets are going through a bad stretch right now, hopefully they can get going again this weekend against the Yankees!
