I guess it depends on how old you are and how long you have known him.
If you meet a wonderful, caring man that treats you with respect and as his equal, I don't care HOW old he is. As long as you're aware that the age difference might result in you being a young widow, that is fine.
I married a man twenty years my senior. When I am 50, he will be 70. Honestly, once you reach adulthood...and I mean after about 40, your interests DO merge somewhat. The only problem I could see is if you're 20 and he's 50...you want kids and to go out on the town every night and he wants to retire and stay at home or travel.
If you both want the same things out of life, then I don't see a problem here. It goes without saying that you should already have your education and know YOURSELF and him before marriage....to anyone of any age. Talk to him about whether or not you want kids...now or ever, when to retire, what kind of home life you expect, etc.
I too find young boys difficult with which to connect. I can't even find myself remotely attracted to anyone younger than the age of 40. Of course now I'm 35, but I was that way even in my younger years. I'm happily married now, but if something were to ever happen to my dear husband, I am positive I would continue to date older men.
Best of luck....do the right thing and marry a man that will care for you.
To those who think she's only looking for a "daddy," I think you need stop participating in stereotyping. Wanting a mature man that isn't out drinking with his buddies and blowing his entire income on alcohol isn't wanting a daddy. There ARE twenty-somethings and thirty-somethings that are mature, but there are a lot MORE over forty-somethings that are. After you waste years of your life putting your hopes and dreams on an immature idiot, you realize that it takes maturity to raise a family.

If you are of legal age then there is no objection from me.
I suggest, however, that you seriously consider why you are looking for someone so much older than you. Are you looking for a father figure? Why can't you find someone who is 10 years older than you? You say young boys...how old are you?
Don't jump into marriage. It's not just about age. Learn to get along on your own (independence). Get your education, a back account - in your name only- and a good job. Buy a nice place to live so you are not stuck paying someone else's mortgage. Live your life now that you have time and opportunity. Learn more about yourself and about men before you jump into a situation that may be wrong for you.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea. But get some life experience first. You won't regret it. If he loves you, he'll wait.

30 years!!! That's a dad. It's not that it's wrong particularly to marry older....just a bit ridiculous at that span of time. You don't even live on the same planet. A couple of years or so older and you might have a chance at real conversation and similar likes and goals. Come on....if you haven't found a boy your age you don't find "stupid" it's obvious you aren't of an age to be making any decisions on marriage or love. Grow up.

Yes, everything is wrong. Thay r old enough to be a parent. The 30 yrd old should know better. Its against the law here to marry b4 16, and even then u need a parents concent. Its also against the law to have sexual conduct with a CHILD of that age.

You dont mention your age..........there may be many reasons why you look to much older men ie "father figure" etc. If its what you want, there is nothing wrong with it. If you are very young, you will learn the hard way like we all do.

That's a really big age difference. What do you two have in common? When you want to go out & party & do things, will he be home in a rocking chair, plastered with Ben Gay & wearing a Depends? Take a good long look at what you may be getting yourself into.

that would be too much of an age gap for me. I mean i would have nothing in common with them and after a while the intimacy might go away too and you might start finding young guys attractive.

It's never wrong to do what makes you happy if it's legal and healthy.
Life is too short so you can NOT waste it being worry about what other people like or not. The choice it's yours.

You sound like an older guys dream! Personally I think younger women are extremely sexy. Sounds like the guy is real lucky to have found you!
