Depends upon the relationship you have with your husband. Some couples can swing that...others cant. Its all a matter of trust and tiring of one another.

My husband & I work for the same company and even work together sometimes. You just have to be able to keep home and work seperate. We met here 10 years ago, been together 5 years and married for 2.5 years. It's been great and I am glad I took that risk of dating a coworker!

My husband and I worked together in college for two years before we married. Then we worked in separate departments of the same warehouse for two years after we married. Later, I worked as a file clerk in the investment office he worked in. In the first two situations, we were equals. That worked out very well. In the investment office, I was his subordinate. That wasn't as comfortable, but it wasn't bad. I kind of enjoy working with him. It gives us something in common to talk about. Now, our careers are so different (he's an investment advisor & I am a piano teacher and accompanist), that it's hard to have a two-sided conversation about our work.

I have been in business partnership with my husband for over 20 years. It had its ups and downs in the beginning, but we resolved that by dividing the responsibilities on the basis of our different personalities. He handles what he is best suited to do, and so do I. And the cardinal rule is simple: do not make changes in each other's areas, or otherwise interfere in each other's areas. We can make valuable suggestions, ask each other for advice, help each other whenever necessary, But we cannot interfere behind each other's backs. Works great!

I met my partner in work and that worked fine. We now work in the same office again for a different company and again it works perfectly!

Most definately! My husband and I have worked together on two seperate occasions for a spand of 7 years and it was great. We made a great team.
Too bad the companies didn't last long, we would still be working together!

I am temporarily working with my husband as we have started a business and he needs my help. However it is not a field of interest for me....he's an engineer....so soon enough, I want to be off doing something else. Even on a temporary basis, I can see that working together is not ideal and I wouldn't recommend it.

From experience i will say NO. My son worked with me and my Boss treated him unfairly. I was very unhappy and voiced my thoughts to the Boss. Thankfully my son found another job and my life was much easier. As for working with my husband i would probably tell him what to do so no, that is also out of the question.
