If I know I probably won't win, I rarely bother. If my odds are the same as everybody else's and it is not too much trouble and I am not going to get spammed doing it, then I might take the time. Generally speaking, though, I have better things to do. Throw in an element of skill or talent, however, then if I have the skill, I'm in!
