You will definitely not get rich in any marine biology job.

If you get a BS in biology or marine biology from a pretty good school, then you have a good chance to get a graduate fellowship to study for your MS and PHD. That would pay about $15,000 a year while you are in school for six years or so. Then if you are lucky you will get a faculty job starting at about $45,000 or so. Then after six years or so if you have done a very good job, you will get promoted and from then on you will make the average for college professors, which is between $75 to $100,000.
To get a faculty job you will need to be the best in the USA, possibly the best in the world at the particular mini-topic of marine biology that you have chosen to study. So, you need to be letter perfect in that area. If you aren't lucky, or if you have slacked off in your career, then you will probably never get a full time job in biology.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone who had a little interest in a subject like this could breeze through school and then get paid a couple hundred thousand a year to diddle around with it!!! Unfortunately that does not happen on this planet.

Hi. Biologists are definitly not in it for the money. The guy who answered before me gave you the number crunching. If you really love it why not do it regardless of the money? You will be happy with your career, which many people cannot say. Tuition depends on what school you choose. What system, wht state, public vs private.etc.
