I believe you are making a rather harsh generalization. Yes, I agree that there are some homosexuals who do flaunt their homosexuality...just like there are many straight people who do as well. There are some straight men (womanizers) who will sit at the bar with their friends and brag about the number of women they have slept with or the girl they just "banged". I believe your question could be better stated and more respectful if you geared it more towards people in general. What's more than that is that people have THE RIGHT to be proud of the person that they are. Before you criticize people, I think that you should look at what they have gone through to get where they are (in this case: coming out to friends and family, coming to terms with the fact that they are different, etc.) before you pass judgement. I am sorry, but your question is rather ignorant in the sense that you have not put a lot of thought into it. Do African Americans have the right to be proud of who they are? YES. Do women? YES. Does the GLBT community? YES. We all do. Don't try to take that away or minimize it. It is not your place to do so.

Why can't heterosexuals just keep their private info to themselves instead of "flaunting" their sexuality?
ewwwww!

I don't know what you are talking about. I don't flaunt my sexuality anymore than a straight person does.
yet again... Why can't some heterosexuals keep their bigoted opinions to themselves?
Why can't heterosexuals just keep their private info to themselves instead of "flaunting" their sexuality EVERYWHERE?

We will, just as soon as heterosexuals keep their private info to themselves instead of "flaunting" their sexuality.

Hey,

Maybe we'll stop when you do! Society is dominated by heterosexual images. All media forms know sex sells so they "flaunt it" hoping to grab your attention. I don't hear you whining and complaining about that. Keep it to yourselves or drop the double standard. What consenting adults do behind closed doors is no ones business but their own.

Now what "flaunting" do we do that irks you so much? What, holding hands? Hugging in public? Maybe that dreaded peck on the cheek or lips? Please. Yes, I agree, two people going at it hot 'n heavy REGARDLESS of sexual orientation is not the best thing to be doing in public but hell, if people are comfie with it and I'm not, I just don't look! And while your at it, keep your bigotry "private" as well please; it's far more civil.

Cheers.

Because we will not be oppressed. What you see as flaunting we see as freedom. We are just as free as anyone else to do what we wish, and you should respect that.

Don't like it, that's your problem, not ours. Next time just don't look.

But heterosexuals "flaunt" all the time and no matter how tired I am of seeing it, I just look away.

But if they get the right, and privilege to "flaunt" their sexuality wherever they please, then we get the same right.

I know I for one will not be treated as a second class citizen in my own land.

Don't like it, don't look.

And just how do we 'flaunt' our sexuality??

Is it the same way that the heteros flaunt theirs by holding hands or kissing in public or pushing a baby stroller down a street??

Not all of them do. Some prefer to be understated about it. Though, there are a good number of them who flaunt it.

There are a lot of heterosexuals who flaunt their sexuality too, though. I care as much for seeing two wo/men making out as I do a man and a woman making out...which is hardly at all.

OK, I'll make you a deal - when you can get the TV, radio, newspapers, ads, billboards and other media to stop shoving the straight "lifestyle" down my throat 99.9% of the time, I'll work towards stopping the other 0.01% that advocates for us.

Is it a deal?
Why not?
