Go to the doctors. if you want to stop them for a reason, like while you are on holiday, they can give you some pills to do this.

You can't really stop your periods. You can tame them though! Eating healthy is a great way to keep that time of the month happy. A lot of women eat chocolate and ice cream during their period because it's comforting; but it can actually worsen cramps and make you more irritable. Also, being physically active will help to make your period lighter. A lot of runners and swimmers will tell you that their periods only last one day! (These are the ones who run or swim professionally!) If you have bad cramps, make sure you know what drugs work for you and that you always have them during your period.

Why do you want to stop them?

Its the life of a woman, having periods.

It is not healthy to not have a period.

You do NOT want to get on the shot (every three months). There are too many negative side affects. There are also class action lawsuits agains Pfizer for how that shot affects womens bodies. I was on it for four years and am so glad I am off of it.

Go to your GP and have the contraceptive injection that stops you having periods. If it is for a limited time for a holiday you can get a pill to stop it or if you are on the contraceptive pill just keep taking it and not having the break, although these two methods are only good to stop you for one month.

I join in with terri, ammuscicqueen & mandy 43110

Don't unless very short term.

I answer questions on the women health pages to hopefully stop some of you becoming seriously damaged by drug company hormones.

I think these were the 2002 Breast cancer death rates. Sorry to be so cheery.

40000 United states (yes more die each month, each year due in the States to breast cancer than in 9/11 we went to war about!)
12000 UK

John R Lee MD stated that these could be reduced by 70-80% the would take the figures down by

28000 US
9600 UK - the thought/action of saving that many each year in each country must be good.

so the the death rates would be ...

12000 US
3600 UK

The death rate has started to drop in the US (somewhere between 7%--15%) since women started to abandon HRT.

Drug company hormones do NOT work in totally the same way as your human hormones.

These are two of the web pages where I started my education (by accident)

http://www.keepsmilin.com/transcriptdrlee.htm
http://www.ylcf.org/hormone-imbalance/06.htm (goes from 01.htm - 33.htm)?

Progesterone and the estrogens work together in the human body they need to be "balanced."

In our bodies we have hornone receptors and our hormones are designed to fit in them. My Yale key fits my Yale door lock it wouldn't likely fit your Yale lock if you had one. It is the same with hormones small changes cause them NOT to fit in the receptors and so cause problems.

John Lee's patients did NOT get breast cancer. He set out to improve their osteporosis and succeded and then the women reported a whole raft of improvements in other areas of their health.

The men that were rubbing the progesterone cream on their wives/partners body found improvement in their health also. Progesterone and testosterone "stops" prostate cancer / prevents it.

There are exceptions in one case a 16 year old had breast cancer but due to a faulty gene she died in six weeks.

If you keep your hormones in balance and you will avoid much of the grief that has (unknowingly?) previously been foisted upon women by drug companies.

Do the on line hormone tests at www.hormoneprofile.com or www.johnleemd.com

If they recommend you obtain hormones please have a saliva test done see www.npis.info or www.salivatest.com. A saliva test will check out active hormones something that blood tests do not.

If a hormone is suggested by the saliva test please take the dose suggested for you. Size 10 shoes are not twice as good if you have size 5 feet.

http://www.abc2health.com/prog-saliva-no...

The WHO (World Health Organisation) uses saliva tests.

If you want some verification see www.npis.info and the women's stories

seach on the web "natural progesterone ""health issue"" and you may find a page about it.

I hope I have managed to give you some good news

you can't stop your periods without any medication or medical help.

The one option is taking the pil and skipping your period but that isn't really a good idea.

The other option can stop your period for up to 12 months, and is really safe, but you do need to consult your doctor first.
You see it involves putting a tube in your fallopian tube which works against the hormones that cause menstrual cycles.

I am just giving you advice you need to ask your doctor about what will be safest for you, as everybody has different reactions.

You want to stop them completly?! 2 ways, go to the doctors and get the contraceptive pill and take them constantly (no breaks). my girl friend skips the breaks occaisionally if it would have been at an inconveinient time, but i don't think it would be a good idea to do it for a long time, you would have to ask a doctor.

another, perminant, way is to get a tubular ligation (having fallopian tubes tied) of a hysterectomy (having your uterus removed)

If it's for a short period of time (i.e. holidays) you can take the pill straight through and this stops it.

For a longer period of time, I think you'll just have to out up with them like everyone else!

Birth control pills do it. Or you could just get pregnant. That works for about 9 months or so.
