i bought a 93 plymouth voyager, it ran great on the test drive, and runs great most of the time.but it sometimes as your driving along it acts like its running out of gas and stalls out, even though there is plenty of gas.sometimes ,if you wait a couple minutes ,it will drive fine again.other times it doesnt.the other morning it didnt ,so i had it towed to an auto shop, and for them it is running great .(i had the fuel filter changed after the first occurence)they say the fuel pump is working fine and cant guess what the problem is . the van has done this to me 5 times in the week since i bought ,and i bought it as is,the dealer did offer to pay half on repairs ,but wont pay until they find a definite problem, but it never stalls out when they are checking it and i dont want to drive it when im worried about it stalling out at anytime.any suggestions on what to tell the mechanics to check ,or has anybody had this happen and what was the problem?

I had a 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan that had the exact same problem. When I would take it in to the mechanic it was fine but often would stall out. I just gave up and traded it in on a new van. Nobody could figure out the problem and I had him check everything from the gas tank to the sensors with no luck. I don't have any suggestions for you, but I have been there and know exactly what you are talking about.

I had a car that would do the same thing. It would only happen as the car got really warmed up. I changed the fuel filter alot. I liked the answer about trash in the fuel tank. As I remember, I would rev the engine when the car began to sputter. Sometimes it would help. I also had a car once that had a vacuum leak and would die when I would brake. Later that car began to shut off because the radiator was clogged and it would overheat. I would have to wait until it cooled before starting or prime the carburetor. (Fire hazard) My problem was lack of maintenance. I bought the Chiltons book for my car so I could help diagnose problems and fix what I could on my own. I was broke and a repair was always more money than I had. Good luck and I hope the problem works itself out.

You did no longer ask a question, yet i assume your question is "how do i'm getting somebody else to take duty for this?". that's what maximum people in that difficulty could ask. the respond is - you do no longer. once you purchase a vehicle, you're to blame for determining its difficulty at that remarkable 2nd. Then, each and every thing that occurs interior the destiny is new and it is your subject. properly, 2 days is two days into the destiny. Are you powerful to teach the matters existed once you purchased the vehicle? needless to say no longer. in case you have been powerful to try this, you will have completed it then.

could your 93 van come from a flood area,? sometimes the computer systems and wire harness get soaked and require changing, be careful when buying used in America, 10's of thousands of cars all over America are mostly low mileage junk and is being sold as good used, it should be sent to the dump, that is what we do to check the history and if it a flood car take them to court, you may get you money back.

I'd ask the dealer's shop to leave the scanner hooked up to your diagnostic connector and see if they can detect what sensor signal is causing a loss of ignition spark as you drive it down the road. They can monitor the sensor inputs to the computer and the computer output signals to your ignition module. You can prove that your ignition spark is dropping out if you attach the spark tester below and there's no spark when you crank the engine and it won't start.

Condensation in the fuel tank?
Impurities fouling the filter while it's running but falling back to the bottom of the tank after it sits for awhile?
