For some reason I can't open my Mozilla Firefox browser. It would act as if it was loading for about 2 seconds, then nothing would happen. I've already tried re-downloading and I have the same result. Anyone know how to fix this? I can't stand Internet Explorer.

did you try opening it in Firefox's "Safe Mode" -- the shortcut will be in the Firefox folder in the Start > "All Programs" menu .

This will start it without any extensions loaded. If that doesn't work I'd do a CLEAN uninstall/reinstall (removing all traces of it before reinstalling)

back up your bookmarks... (WinXP I assume)
C:\Documenents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profile\Default.xxxxx\bookmarks.html
copy that file to somewhere else. (Application Data is a hidden folder, your going to have to have "show hidden files and folders" enabled. --- I think that path is correct, it may be off a little. I can't verify it right now.)

Strange!!!

If your PC is acting strangely, it's probably infected with malware. Use the link below to learn more about "malware".

Then, you need to install: ONE Anti-virus (I use AVG free), ONE Firewall (Zone Alarm free), and these Anti-spyware tools: Windows Defender, Spybot, Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster and cCleaner (free, I use all 5 regularly).

Google for them, install them and learn how to use them (use the Help TAB).

TIP: The apps above can only clean up so much. Last resort, back up (copy to CD / DVD / external hard drive) all personal data and do a Windows "Clean Install", get more info at (www.theeldergeek.com).

Note: Use your Recovery disks, if included with your PC, not a generic XP disk. The Recovery disks may be ON the hard drive, RTFM.
