No.
The fact is, to see things clearly you must close your heart,
remove the blinkers of emotion and View the world coldly and without humanity. The search for "Truth" is a matter best left to philosophers and churchmen, The cold facts are always there in plain view... we might not want to see it , but "Fact "its always there.
Think about a Parent or loved one standing before you, in there hands is a letter from a hospital. You ask them:
"is there anything to worry about?"
"No, nothing to worry about" they say.
The facts are that they have lost weight, have a sallow complexion and have been short of breath and clutching their chest a lot more of late... but you close your eyes and listen to their voice and choose to believe them.
Tell me, are you seeing things clearly?

Not necessarily. I read one book that said that if we're in an intimate relationship, and we're about to have sex, that closing our eyes (when we kiss, etc) is exactly the WRONG thing to do. That we should really see our partners in order to know what their reactions are, what they like, and in in order to appreciate them. I suspect we ought to keep our eyes open (figuratively and literally) in order to see things clearly.

It's the least cluttered place I know. Not as beautiful mind you, the world is vivid with color and one can choose what to look at. Closed eyes give you darkness and blank space with which to imagine on.

No. I just stare at the paper, or the wall. But closing eyes does help.

We talking mentally or literally? Ofcourse literally with your eyes open. Mentally depends...if you can daydream with your eyes open then you can see things more clearly that way.
