This is kind of a strange question... usually whatever is around, yes even a kitchen towel.
But I always try to make sure I have a bib on her when bottle feeding and I just use that (my husband never remembers to put one on her). Since my baby strictly bottle feeds I have about 30 bibs for her. She uses about 8 a day, she slobbers on herself when she's just chewing on toys all day so she basically always has a bib on.

A piece of cloth, moistened with just water. I got some soft fleece at a fabric store, cut it into squares, and keep them next to the kitchen sink. It seems to be easier on their skin than paper towels or baby wipes. Also better for the environment to wash & reuse than to throw away.

A soft, clean, dry cloth. If needed, dampened with plain warm water. Don't use anything with soaps, including baby wipes, as soap can be irritating to baby's delicate skin. Keeping skin clean and dry is the best way to decrease skin irritations regardless of location :)

i call them "spitties"
they are just plain white "old school" diapers, like gauzy burp cloths.
i bought packs of maybe 10 or so from walmart. gerber makes them.
i use them to wipe his mouth, wipe his nose, anything, really, and they have become his "blankie" too.
it's easy b/c i just strategically place one in a few places around the house and they are always handy and then every other day or so when one gets dirty, i switch em up.
i probably have about 30 spitties that i rotate through.
makes life SOOOO simple!!!!

The olden day people did not have through away diapers they used the towling nappies which they tied with a pin as a nappy and had to hand wash that, that is the one we use. We go through +-5 a day.

When my daughter was a baby, I used a cloth diaper for a "burp cloth," and used that to wipe her mouth. I used disposable diapers in general, but had one package of cloth diapers just for this purpose. They make wonderful dust cloths once your baby is a big kid!
