~~~ Like everybody else,cats can only live this life once,so love them and treat them well. When it's time for them to go, there are plenty of other cats that need a good home and person to take care of them. Be that person,and it will help fill the emptiness your cat left behind when his/her time was up. If you keep doing this,and helping all the strays,it will seem like you had nine lives worth of cat love. It's worth it. ~~~
First define what makes a cat a cat; their spirit or their body? An embodied spirit?
If a cat dies when the body dies, we can safely say a cat has only one life. However, if you believe the spirit lives on or is reincarnated, it is impossible to prove that a cat doesn't have 9 or a million lives.
I think you should now attempt to PROVE that corn (or any other vegetable) doesn't feel pain
After all the cats I've had in my life, I can safely say that I don't really understand how someone said that cats have nine lives. They really only get super lucky (or thats what I have seen in my lifetime).
I cannot prove something that is not true. Cats do not have nine lives.
This is another instance when a statement is not to be taken in its literal meaning. A cat is said to have nine lives because it is one animal that has very strong survival instincts.
a cat does not have nines lives.they have pads on their paws that adjust their balance and if you throw them off a building,the pads would cause the cat to tilt right side up.Except the 7th floor,that is their terminal velocity or something,they cannot adjust fast enough so they fall and die.And of course common sense can tell you it's stupid to throw a cat off a building.
For persons like you the only prove is to be born like a cat and experience yourself.
But the fact is that we are eternal spirit souls, which are now caught in the cycle of repeated birth and death. Since time immemorial we are transmigrating from one body to another sometimes being a cat, sometimes being a rat, sometimes monkey, sometimes human, sometimes angel, etc. There are 8 400 000 types of bodies throughout the universe and we have experience a varieties of pleasure and sufferings in them. Now the real question in the human form of life is to understand how to break free from the cycle of birth and death and regain our constitutional eternal position of life without suffering, full of knowledge and bliss.
I think the fact that my cat keeps running in front of cars is proof enough. Especially when I consider the fact that my mom did accidentally hit him with her car and he's still alive.
