I am with someone who i REALLY REALLY like who I think about all the time and makes me feel like a million dollars. Thing is I came out of a 6 year relationship in January and am scared that this is all moving too fast. I met him in April and he told me he loved me the night before last.

I want to tell him that I want to keep things as they are but also just fun and light as well but I dont want to alienate him as if he backs off I will be gutted.

Does anyone have any ideas what to say? x

In your situation I suggest you say...

" I want to keep things as they are but also just fun and light as well but I dont want to alienate you .... if you back off I will be gutted"

It will take him by surprise ... but at least he will understand without all that female double speech we tend to cop.. Women are from Mars, I reckon.

I have been in alot of long lasting relationships, and it is hard to find another relationship as good. BUT i would say you have to go to him, and tell him that you like him alot and that you would like your relationship to progress, but you want it to progress slowly. tell him the reason being about the previous relationship, and be honest with him. If he cant accept it that you want things to progres slowly, he does not deserve to be with you.
