I have been working for 10 years in my current job. I am an educator. I guess the reason why I am in this line is that I enjoy teenagers. Somehow, this job gives you that sense of satisfaction that you are doing something worthwhile. Imparting your knowledge and learning from these teenagers. I believe that it is a two way learning process. Each day, I will discover something new from my students, be it latest mobile phones models, Xbox, blogging etc etc etc. I think I am learning more from my students on "real life" issues. This constant discovery has made me stayed in this service for long. Thought of quitting twice but my parents are my backbone. They encourage me to see things differently. I believe if you have this thing called "job satisfaction", you will stay longer. However, things like better salary, relocating to a different state/area will somehow make you change your job. My wife has been into her fourth job in two years. Each time she moves on, she will get a better pay by at least more than 10% of her previous salary. With the fluid job market, more opportunities and the different dynamics in place, I believe a normal person can change jobs maybe 10 to 20 times in his/her lifetime.
