No; some companies give a uniform allowance if a uniform is required, but they are not mandated by law to provide for any such allowance.

Some companies provide a uniform and do not charge anything upfront and you are responsible for the maintenance; however, if you fail to return any part of the the uniforms upon termination, you will be responsible for the full cost and your final check can be legally debit for the missing items.

Some companies require you to purchase a uniform(s) upfront (such as DNR - Department of Natural Resources).

It is a good question to ask/consider if applying for a job that may require a uniform.

I lived in AZ for a few years and had a job where uniforms were mandatory. My employer gave us a uniform allowance but it didn't cover the full cost of the maintenance of them. There is no statute on it being the company or employer's responsibility.

I suppose one could equate it to having to wear a suit and tie for a specific job, you would have to supply your own wardrobe.

Cintas robs companies blind when thy sell uniforms to them. Where I work we have to pay Cintas like $30-$40 for one shirt.
